Willa Jean - New Orleans Brunch

    FacebookTweetPinPrint

You can't go to New Orleans without stopping by Willa Jean. It is hands down our favorite brunch in the city - we make it a point to stop any time we visit (or even go to the airport). If you ask us, Willa Jean is the best brunch in New Orleans!

    To Start

First, their drinks. Sea salted honey latte? Yes, please. Matcha latte? Of course. We recommend starting your meal off right with any of their hot/iced drinks!

Next, the snacks (or appetizers). Pictured here is the monkey bread with toffee sauce and it. was. delicious. We highly suggest trying the griddled banana bread as well. The cornbread is fantastic if you're more into savory snacks.

    Main Dishes

We have tried quite a few main dishes. The hangover bowl (braised short rib, cheese grits, garlic, onion, & a poached egg) does the trick. The flavors compliment each other so well and after finishing this dish, you (almost) forget how many hurricanes you drank on Bourbon last night.

Similarly, the fried chicken biscuit does not disappoint. It is one of the best fried chicken biscuits in New Orleans (we may even be as bold as to say the state of Louisiana). It is a deep fried chicken breast, perfectly crispy and juicy, and served on a flaky biscuit with a side of tabasco honey.

In addition, the BBQ shrimp and grits is artwork in and of itself. New Orleans BBQ shrimp isn't your usual BBQ - it's local Louisiana shrimp doused in a buttery, creole sauce and served over creamy grits. Total yum.

    Grand Finale

Lastly, Willa Jean cookies and milk. Warm, gooey chocolate chip cookies sprinkled with sea salt served with sweet vanilla bean milk and a beater scooped in edible cookie dough. Need we say more? This may be the main reason Willa Jean is the best brunch in New Orleans. Therefore, you MUST add it to your New Orleans restaurant bucket list!
