This 2 ingredient ranch dip has that classic ranch flavor but can be part of a healthy snack when paired with fresh vegetables like baby carrots, celery sticks, cucumbers, and bell peppers. It's super easy to make and made with just two simple ingredients: plain low-fat Greek yogurt and ranch seasoning.
This Greek yogurt ranch dip is a little thicker than traditional ranch dressing but makes for a creamy dip with 5 grams of protein per serving! It's an easy recipe to throw together at a moment's notice and I love serving this healthy dip as part of a charcuterie board for your next party, tailgate spread, or even post-workout snack with fresh veggies! The kids and whole family will also love it to snack on throughout the week or on the weekends. If you're a big ranch fan, these garlic ranch pretzels, roasted ranch cauliflower, and comeback crackers are a must for you!

Equipment
- Medium bowl - you want a big enough bowl to fit the two cups of Greek yogurt plus some seasoning without spilling over!
- Spoon or rubber spatula - you can use either to combine the yogurt and seasoning.
Ingredients
Full ingredients, measurements, and instructions can be found in the recipe card at the bottom of this post.
- Low-fat (2 or 5%) plain Greek yogurt - Greek yogurt is packed with protein and natural probiotics, which support optimal gut health and functioning. This makes it a healthier alternative to sour cream! You can also use low-fat cottage cheese, in which case I would recommend blending before mixing with the ranch seasoning. This will give you that creamy texture. It's also important to use low-fat as opposed to non-fat Greek yogurt because the fat adds a nice texture and mouth feel, whereas fat free can leave a chalky taste. Also be sure to use plain yogurt and not a flavored one!
- Ranch seasoning - this is an obvious ingredient for this ranch dip recipe! I like using Hidden Valley Ranch for that traditional flavor. You can buy it in bulk or individual packets.
How to Make Ranch Dip with Greek Yogurt
1: Combine both ingredients in a medium bowl and stir until until fully combined. Be sure to scrape the sides and bottom of the bowl to ensure you've mixed all of the yogurt and seasonings!
2: Serve with fresh vegetables or pita chips and enjoy!
Variations & Substitutions
- Optional ingredients to give this homemade ranch dip even more of a fresh flavor: a splash of lemon juice, fresh chives, fresh dill, fresh garlic, or a little bit of black pepper!
- If you want extra ranch flavor, you can add fresh dill and a dash of garlic powder and/or onion powder!
- I would not substitute fat-free Greek yogurt in this recipe as it will be more chalky and less creamy than either low- or full-fat. I like use either 2% or 5% plain Greek yogurt!
- You can substitute sour cream or cottage cheese in this recipe, but they won't have the same probiotic content as Greek yogurt. If you use cottage cheese, I recommend putting it in the blender before mixing with the ranch seasoning to make it smooth!
Serving this Protein Ranch Dip
- I recommend serving this protein ranch dip with your favorite veggies like baby carrots, sliced bell peppers, celery, and cucumbers! It also pairs well with homemade pita/tortilla chips or even potato chips if you want a salty crunch. I'm a big fan of snacking on garlic ranch pretzels and comeback crackers with this dip too!
- You can sprinkle it with fresh parsley, sliced green onions, or fresh parsley for a little bit of texture and more flavor!
- While delicious fresh, I like to let this 2 ingredient ranch dip sit in the refrigerator for a couple of hours to really let the flavors marinate together.
Storage
Store this high protein ranch in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. I don't recommend freezing as Greek yogurt won't thaw well for this recipe!
