Cranberry jalapeno dip is the perfect appetizer for the holiday season, but it's honestly delicious any time of year. Serving it on top of creamy low-fat cream cheese compliments the tangy, slightly spicy, tart dip!

    Cranberry Jalapeno Chutney

A chutney is something used to add flavor to food, similar to a jelly or jam. This dip could easily be used as a cranberry jalapno chutney. It would go great on top of chicken or fish, and would add a ton of flavor!

    Jalapeno Cranberry Cream Cheese Dip

I love dumping the cranberry mixture on top of low-fat cream cheese (aka neufchatel cheese) to make a delicious and simple dip. The creamy cream cheese combined with the crunchy, tart, slightly spicy jalapeno cranberry mixture is fantastic. I'll serve this jalapeno cranberry cream cheese combo with pretzels or crackers like Wheat Thins!

    Ingredient Highlights

    • Cranberries - the star of this recipe, fresh cranberries are a crucial component here! They're packed with nutrients like vitamin C, fiber, and antioxidants (perfect to eat throughout the winter months!).
    • Jalapeno - keep the seeds for maximum spiciness! If you prefer more mild flavors, remove all of the seeds.
    • Red onion - onion just gives this dip such a great flavor! They also contain fiber, prebiotics, and antioxidants to help fight inflammation and promote gut health.
    • Orange juice + zest - you can use any citrus here (orange, lemon, lime). The juice and zest give the dip a fruitier flavor!
    • Cilantro - if you aren't a cilantro person, parsley would work as well.
    • Honey - since cranberries are naturally tart, adding a little bit of honey helps to balance it out.

How to Make Cranberry Jalapeno Dip

    Recipe FAQ

How long is jalapeno dip good for?

This dip is good for up to 5 days in an air-tight container in the refrigerator. I recommend eating it the day after preparing it to give the flavors time to all come together!

What do you eat with jalapeno dip?

I suggest eating this dip with crackers like Wheat Thins, Triscuits, pretzels chips, or even adding it to a salad!

Can you make cranberry jalapeno dip without a food processor or blender?

You can! It will be a lot of chopping though. I highly recommend using a food processor or blender just to save time (and your hands)!

    Ingredients

    Units Scale
    • 12oz bag (3380g) fresh cranberries, rinsed
    • ⅓ cup (26g) cilantro, chopped
    • ¼ cup (79g) honey
    • ¼ red onion (40g), chopped
    • 2 jalapenos (78g), minced
    • 2 Tbsp orange juice
    • 1 Tbsp orange zest

    Instructions

    1. Pick out any mushy cranberries and discard.
    2. After chopping cilantro, onion, and jalapenos, place all ingredients into a blender or food processor.
    3. Pulse or chop until desired consistency is reached (I like mine fairly smooth but still a little chunky!).
    4. Spread over low-fat cream cheese and serve with cinnamon sugar pita chips. Enjoy!

    Notes

    • Store in an air-tight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
      • This dip is honestly better the next day!
    • You can freeze the dip (minus the cilantro cream cheese) for up to 1 month in an air-tight container. Stir in the cilantro right before serving.
