Hi from The Perfect Pear! We’re Lauren and Zach. We met in grad school at Florida State in 2014 and have been together ever since. We’re both performance dietitians by trade and are huge foodies. We love traveling, trying new restaurants, cooking, baking, and creating fun cocktails.
We’re currently based in Fayetteville, NC but have lived all over the country. The number of lists of saved restaurants from everywhere we’ve been may be slightly insane. Whenever we travel, food and drinks are the first thing we plan out (sometimes these are the main reasons we travel). We actually started our Instagram (@theperfectpearr) as a way to share our food adventures.
Our goal for this platform is to share recipes that we have slightly modified to improve nutrition quality without compromising taste. As dietitians, we strive to eat a high quality, whole foods-based diet the majority of the time. However, part of a well-rounded diet includes some tasty, traditional recipes!
Most of the recipes on The Perfect Pear fall under the high quality, whole foods, “healthy” category. However, you’ll find some that are downright delicious and may contain traditionally “unhealthy” ingredients. And that’s okay! As cliché as it sounds, everything in moderation is okay. We hope to inspire you to find ways to nutritionally improve recipes while enjoying classic recipes every now and then!
